This has got to be easy but I'm just not getting there. Simply put I want to query a db with the field name "completed". Completed is a date field (mm/dd/yyyy/). I want the query to return results where the instructed year matches the yyyy part of the completed field. For simplicity sake, lets set the instructed year to be the current year ( <cfset nowYear=#year(now())#> )

Loops in arrays or structures Loops in arrays or structures I was given a project on html reports and They have advised me to use Loops in arrays or structures At this point I am a novice at this html reporting system. I have two attachmovies on different frames. And above these movies I have another "static" movie clip. I run this code first: I want the static movie clip above everything else. ------------------------------ Frame1: this.attachMovie(my_array[random_film], "movie1", -16368, {_x:424.5, _y:117}); --------------------------- This works the "static" movie clip is above this movieclip.. but on another frame later on I have this code: ------------------------------------- Frame100: this.attachMovie("pause", "movie1", -16368, {_x:424.5, _y:117}); function randRange(min, max) { var randomNum = Math.floor(Math.random() * (max - min + 1)) + min; return randomNum; } var paustid = randRange(15,20); ----------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------ Frame:103 if(firstloop != 1) { pauseDuration = paustid*1000; framesInLoop = 3; if (startTime == null) { startTime = getTimer(); gotoAndPlay (_currentframe-framesInLoop); } else { lapsedTime =

Okay I will describe our problem. We are running CF 6.1 and IIS 6 on server 2003. We have a service that people post to and get a response. In the script we have a CFHTTP call to a remote URL. If the CFHTTP takes longer than 18 seconds which can happen IIS seems to lose site of the CFHTTP. The web browser does nothing. It literally just sits there. So what we have been doing is setting the timeout value on the CFHTTP to 17 seconds to prevent this hang. We thought maybe it was a CF problem so to rule it out we wrote an ISAPI filter that has nothing to do with cold fusion where you can pass in the time to sleep. Here is the URL to the script that calls the dll. Pass in time is in miliseconds so 18 seconds will be 18000. Try it for 18000 then 19000 and you will see the effect. http://mercury.velocitygroup.co.uk/sleepTestPost2.htm So as it is calling a dll cold fusion does not appear to be the problem We cannot work out where this arbitrary 18 seconds is coming from. We need our

I am about to start some reporting projects For querying from the DB and outputting to a display page, I was told that arrays, structures are useful for these projects. Visual Basic Noob here. I'm trying to make an alert dialog pop up if the recordcount of a dataset is 0 meaning that it didn't find a match between an id and the currently logged in user. Below is the code I came up with but obviously it doesn't work. Is it possible to pop up an alert box from the if statement like I'm trying to do? If so, can someone help me with the syntax of my code. It is below: <% IF editmessage.RecordCount = 0 THEN Alert("You do not have permission to edit this record."); END IF %> Thanks!

I have Studio8 and CF7 installed and would like to use one of the code snippets that I see here. Where can they be found in DW? Or how can I? http://www.macromedia.com/examples/cfgettingstarted/experience/index_content.cfm Thanks

For the past couple of days, some Flash files have not been appearing, while others have. More info: I'm using Mac OS 10.3.9, G3 processor, Flash Player 8, and Safari. Reinstalling the player doesn't work. I've had this problem before. It went away eventually last time, but it'd be nice to not have to wait a week or so. When I scroll on a page with a gap where Flash content should be, it still shows the weird "laggy" effect that also happens with QuickTime movies. This site works. This site does not work. This site originally worked, but now it has also stopped working. The test animation suggested in the support FAQ does not work. Right-clicking on an area where there should be Flash content (but isn't) displays a Flash menu. I hope there's some sort of solution for this. Thanks.

I have a global array on a movieclip that passes info to a function in the first frame of its slide. When you mouse over the MC the info for the array comes back as undefined, but if you mouse over a second time the function gets the correct info. I'm guessing that it must be order of events or something like that, but I really have no clue. What's the deal here?

I have a "content_mc" on the main timeline that is created by .attachMovie (). Inside the "content_mc" i have a button that I would like to close (removieMovieClip ()) the content window. Here is the code I have. Maintimeline: function buildContentBox () { this.createEmptyMovieClip("content_holder", this.getNextHighestDepth()); content_holder.attachMovie("content_mc", "content_mc",this.getNextHighestDepth(),{_x:185, _y:185}); } // which is called by a button action and works ok Inside the content_mc close_btn.onPress = function () { _root.content_holder.content_mc._x += 10; _root.content_holder.content_mc.removeMovieClip(); } // the _x is to see if I am hitting the _mc correctly - the clip moves to the right on press, but does not delete Any help to what I am doing wrong would be appreciated. I recently moved my html help documentation folder with all htm files, images, chm, xpj, etc to a network folder instead of a local folder. Now when I try to use new images I have saved to the network folders, they do not show up in Robohelp. They show up in my computer, but when I browse for them in the Select Image File dialog, the folder is empty (note: same folder is full of jpg files when viewed with My Computer). Can you please help me? Thanks - Leora

Ok, so I have a news section on a site that looks to an XML file to load the news. And there are about 20 news headlines in there, and the scrollbar is getting way too tiny. So, what I would like to do is have it display 10 of the headlines and then stop, but I will have a button to open an archive window so you can see all of the headlines. I know I can make 2 sections of the xml, one for the current 10 and one for the archive, but I would like to have it just pull from the same xml section and have one of them just parse 10 headlines and one parse all of them. Here's my actionscript to call the xml file, I tried changed the var=0 to var=10, but that displays everything under the 10th, and I'd rather have it display everything b/w 1 and 10, thanks in advance.

Can anyone giude me through the necessary step to change the background on the quiz results page? I would like the same background that I am using for question slides to show up on the page/slide that displays the results of a quiz after competion.

here goes... I have written a few class files to handle movie clip loading into the flash movies that i author. one of which is a generic loader that holds a loading queue, another is a listener for a MovieClipLoader that has been initialized in the class file. here is my problem... I call a simple method from the timeline (named: addToQueue()) which adds a target movieclip and a url to the generic loader's queue. and tells it to begin loading if it isn't already loading something else. this is to keep things loading one at time. well, when anything is added to the queue in the timeline, the animation and onEnterFrame code set in the timeline freezes and waits for all loading to be completed. this is undesireable. I have a menu system that i would still want a user to be able to navigate while loading external items. I am using loadClip(), i have even tried just loading straight from the timeline without my class files. same problem. is the loadClip() method not threaded? does flash

I'd like to put a scrub bar at the top of my movie so users can scrub back and forth through it. I've found a couple pre-built ones at Flashkit.com, but I really would like to learn how to make one myself. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, Michael

i have a page where it's not possible to read the debug information, as it's obscured by the non-debug content. the debug content is in the page source, and is even partially visible. i'm using MX7 and IIS. the behaviour is the same in both mozilla and IE. the only unusual factor (unusual on my system, anyway) is that the page is constructed mainly using CSS. is this a well-known phenomenon? if there's some way to avoid it, i'd be very pleased to hear about it!

I am new user for Report Builder and I am trying to check if this tool helps me convert all my old reports in report builder. My question is, can I pass input parameter(s) to my query in advance query builder? I tried that but whenever I try to do that, my cfm file where I am calling cfr file in <cfreport> hangs. If anyone know if this is possible or any other way around, please let me know. Thanks in advance.
