Hello, I am trying to write a function that will "highlight" days in a month--for a calendar I'm making. The dates I have come in from PHP/MySQL look like this: YYYY-MM-DD. I split up the date by "year", "month" and "day" then put them into an array like so: ////CODE//// [...] function editDateResults( d:Array ){ // d = an array full of dates formated YYYY-MM-DD for( var i:Number=0 ; i < d.length ; i++){ year.push( parseInt( d .substring( 0 , 4 ) ) ); month.push( parseInt( d.substring(5 , 7 ) ) ); day.push( parseInt( d .substring(8 , 10 ) ) ); }//end for }//end function [...] ////END CODE//// How do I take those arrays and line them up with my Calendar days. I tried something like this. DON'T LAUGH! It worked kind of! LOL ////CODE//// var l:Number = 0; var d:Number = 0; var count:Number = 0; function highlightDay( ){ count = 0; //reset; while( true ){ count++; l++; l %= month.length; d++; d %= 31; if( monthsByNumber+1 == month and d == day ){ // n = a number

Hi, I have never generated an Excel file via CF before and was hoping that someone here could help me? I have looked through past threads and I don't think they have totally answered my questions. What I need to do is create a piece of code that I will schedule to run at a specific interval of time that will generate an Excel file using data queried, save the file to the server, and then e-mail the Excel file to a vendor. This sounds feasible to me, I am just not sure how to approach it. I have seen in past threads people using the <cfcontent> tag to generate excel formatted data into a browser, but I need this data to actually be posted into excel. Please help. Thanks, Joe

New install of Dreamweaver 8. Using DW8 when I create a recordset it is marked "Recordset (Recordset1) #prior version#". When I click on it I get this error message:"This server behavior was created with a prior version of UltraDev. It will be replaced with the current version when you click OK in the server behavior dialog box.". (I've never had Ultra Dev on this computer?) Clicking OK does NOT make anything right. I'm unable to create any other Server items. I used Dreamweaver MX 2004 without problems. Now it seems DW8 cannot make recordsets for APS.VBscript? I even reinstalled Dreamweaver 8 but nothing changed.

Is it possible to insert a number of rows into a table based on a value entered in a textbox? For example (I'm a tech writer not a programmer/engineer, so please be patient with me.), if someone enters "4" in a textbox, can I insert that many number of rows? Thanks! -Tom

Greetings all, I am a Robo-noob (noobie, novice, etc) though not new to computers and databases and such. We have a team of 5 writers all working on separate projects but under the same RoboSource version control. We are experiencing some serious performance issues: projects can take over an hour to check out or in; not all users can see projects; "rename" doesn't get rid of the old rather makes a copy under the new name(?); etc. I am trying to baseline "normal" behavior for RoboSource Control as well as some best practices for multiple users. I am wondering if there is something more in depth to describe the RoboSource control engine, and possibly maintenance tasks to help what appears to be a jumble of nodes that are not all necessary, too many 'admin' users, etc. I expect that "cleanup" will solve a lot of our problems. So, rather than go into each problem in the forum, I would prefer to find good resource and tackle this thing iteratively. Thanks for any useful suggestions Do

I was just wondering if it is possible to simulate the onPress event for a button. For example, lets say I have the button "layers" and want to simulate the onPress event for it using actionscript. Is this possible or does it actually have to be clicked on? I hope I am missing something obvious here! Thanks in advance.

i am tryign to pad a strign with 38 blank spaces at the end. i tried the following: <cfset filler="THisIsMyStringToPad"> <cfloop from="1" to="38" index="LoopCount"> <cfset filler= #variables.Filler# & " "> #LoopCount#<br /> </cfloop> but when i output #variables.Filler# to the screen, all i get is one space. and i know it is going all the way through the loop because if i output loopcount on each iteration i get 1-38. so what am i doing wrong? is there an easier way?

I have lots of images in a project which are out of date and not used any more. Is there any easy way of seeing which images are used in the project and which arent, so that i can delete the old ones? Or do i just have to go through them all and find the old ones : ( Any ideas greatly appreciated.

I am receiving the error The image [imagename] cannot be displayed, because it contains errors. when trying to view an image in firefox that was uploaded via CFFILE. IE returns a broken image. This is happening on 2 seperate sites. I can download the images and open them locally and everything seems to be fine. Many other images have also been uploaded to the same sites using cffile with no rpobelm. Can anyone shed any light on this or has anyone had the same experience? thanks! - b

Hiya! is there a function to scale objects/mc's ? like my_mc.size = 90%;?

I've just used the extension manager (DW8) to uninstall an extension. It's no longer showing up in the extension manager but I can't, even with multiple restarts, get it off of the object toolbar. Any suggestions? Thanks, Anne

Can anyone help me? I am using a movieClipLoader & listener object to dynamically load a SWF. If the SWF exists onLoadComplete and onLoadProgress work just fine (but only if they are not within an "if" statement, for some reason) but if the SWF does not exist onLoadError does not get called. My MovieClipLoader is attached. Like I said, everything works but the onLoadError function. Any idea why? I need to run my function "showRoute" if the map file does not exist. Is there a work-around? Thanks for all your help! ~ Joseph Russavage ~ p.s. This is for an interactive acccessibility map I am building for my campus. You can see this project in progress at www.humboldt.edu/~jmr74 and clicking on the "Interactive Accessibility Map" link. The above command executes when the user selects a starting and an ending location from the first two drop-down menus, then clicks the "Info" button and then the "Route" tab. If there is no route between the locations the user has selected the on

In the code below I get a "viewall undefined" error. before sending it to the cfc ,if it is not defined, I set it, so it should always have a value. Am I using the cfinvokeargument wrong? Do I have to put all variables into an array? I have other cfc's that work when only sending 1 variable, as soon as I try to send more I get the undefined errors. .cfm <cfif not isdefined('viewall')><cfset viewall = 1></cfif> <cfif not isdefined('asc')><cfset asc=1></cfif> <cfif not isdefined('to')><cfset to = #createodbcdatetime('1-1-3000')#></cfif> <cfif not isdefined('from')><cfset from = #createodbcdatetime('1-1-1901')#></cfif> <cfinvoke component="query" method="query_total_all_exp" returnvariable="total"> <cfinvokeargument name="viewall" value="#viewall#"> <cfinvokeargument name="team" value="#team#"> <cfinvokeargument name="asc" value="#asc#"> <cfinvokeargument name="to" value="#to#">

I am wondering if you can nest a cfif inside the action attribute of the cfform tag. I would like to specify two different form actions depending on the existance of a record in a record set. Something like this: <cfform id="form1" name="form1" method="post" action= <cfif #Form.subid# = #ExistsSubid.subid#> "Action1.cfm" <cfelse> "Action2.cfm" </cfif> > ExistsSubid is the name of the record set, and the form.subid contains the value I would like to compare with the record set.

I am encrypting a password in my application. The problem I am having is that one of my encrypted passwords starts with a single quote. This is blowing up my SQL queries. Is there a way to force CF to only use alpha or numeric characters?

What am I doing wrong?? Variable1 is not defined, but variable2 is defined. Page has also been reloaded several times to make sure the cookie existed prior to the page loading. When checking my cookies folder, both are listed in the same txt file.

Hi All, I'm having a little problem with maxscroll. I am using the total number of text lines(maxscroll) multiplied by 14 to give me the _height of a movie clip called entryBackMiddle... Seems to work until I look closer... it appears that some of my clips are sized to long and other clips are to short... Originally I was using .textHeight but that keeps giving me undefined so I switch over to maxscroll... What I think might be the problem is: var maxScrollHeight:Number = this["entry_clip" + h + "" + i].entry_text.maxscroll; I have also included a file and the entire code of how I'm looping thought my xml and attaching my clip in case its something else is wrong. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated :-) Thanks in advance Scott

I have a problem with missing calendar in when I brought my files over to production. Hi, I have brought my files to production server by dumping my folder from testing to production. I brought the all my folder there. It is a java script calendar . In testing server it works fine. The calendar written in java script is there. But when I managed to bring it in to production the calendar is gone. I am still new to this, infact it is a quick fixed. I got the pieces together. Any tips on how I can get it running the same way from testing to production server. I appreciate your help. Thank you

What I'm trying to do is make it so than when you load my html-based homepage, the logo is animated and plays a sound. When the sound is over, the logo should cease to animate and be static for every other page. I have the logo as a .png already on the page and would like people without flash to still be able to see the static logo. How do I; a) make the animation stop after the sound completes (currently it loops a peice of the sound and loops the animation) b) make the flash animation appear to those with flash and the .png to those without? I don't know if it's relevant, but the animation is a glow made with the ActionScript 2.0 and the sound is something I imported to a second 'layer'.

Flash MX2004 I'm trying to create a game similar to Lingo, if you've ever seen it on TV. I had a bit of code that was working before I decided to break it out into functions.... specifically I'm trying to return values from 2 functions, and I'm getting nothing back. When I do a trace it comes back undefined. Can anyone have a look at this code to see if there's something really wrong with it? Any help greatly appreciated! ScottieBitter
