AE 6 Colorama Output Cycle bug?

I'm trying to use the AE 6 Colorama Output Cycle effect. I selected the preset Hue Cycle. The problem is the only triangle I can adjust is the red one. When I click drag  the yellow triangle it moves the red triangle. The preset  does not matter. Regardless of the preset or no preset  I can only adjust one triangle. Is this a bug?

I found a solution that's somewhat inconvenient but still is a work around. While using the Colorama Output Cycle I can use sample mode. I start dragging the red triangle and then hold down the ctrl key move over the yellow triangle to sample. Now the yellow triangle is active and I can adjust the yellow.

Thanks everyone for trying to help but in a couple of days I will close discussion. It sounds like I need a patch to fix the bug. I will look into it since it is licensed software. I'm not optimistic. Instead of Colorama I'm going to play around with the Arithmetic effect.

Very odd behaviour...

From your reply you're on Windows - what version?

What is the exact version of CS6 you're using?
(Help menu > About After Effects -  the full version number including all 'decimal places'.)

I have a copy of CS6 (11.0.4.2) running on Windows 7 / 64bit and can't reproduce this issue.

Mike I purchased AE6 alone. AE6 version 6.0.0.172 on Windows 7 64 bit. It sounds like I need a patch to fix the bug. I doubt if I can get it but I will look into it. I'll ask Adobe since it is licensed software. Instead of using Colorama I will try Arithmetic effect and see how that goes. Thanks for the help.

Totally my misread there - I thought you were using CS6 - but you're using 6 : )  That's a very old version, so I think you may have to work around it I'm afraid.

I'm on a later version of AE but I cannot reproduce your bug. When you select the yellow colored triangle do you get the connector to the opacity slider?

If the connector is still tied to the red triangle then you do not have the yellow triangle selected. The triangles on both ends of the connector will be the same color.

Your CS6 should be up to date. I don't remember if there were bugs in early builds of that version.

Rick When I click on the yellow triangle I get the yellow opacity bar but as soon as start dragging the yellow triangle it jumps back to the red triangle in its place. I click on the blue triangle the blue opacity bar shows up but if I start dragging on the blue triangle the red triangle  moves in its place. thanks

Do you get the same behaviour if you start a completely new project or comp?

When weird things like this happen it's always worth trying a preferences reset:

Press Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS) while the application is starting.
