How to downscale a 4k project file to 2k

I recently purchased a 4K project file from Video Hive. My footage, however, is 2K. When I change the composition, the resolution for the animations and text remains at 4K. How do I scale down the entire project so I won't have enormous text and animations?

Thanks for reaching out and I apologize that I haven’t given an update. The collapse transformations option didn’t work and I didn‘t get a chance to try the script. I decided to scale up the footage (which is 1920x1080, I was incorrect about it being 2k - I am editing someone else’s footage) just to see how it looked and it looked great so that’s my solution! Thanks for responding everyone!

- You may first have to precomp your input/ source elements (BG video for example), scale it up to 4K, and pipe it into the 4K comps (if they are expecting 4K user defined source elements; and then do what Mylenium described. Not ideal.

Or, try duplicating the Project file (and keeping the orig as a back up), then, on a test project, running the script : "Scale composition" that ships with AE on your comps. Depending on the animation, it might get you where you need to go.

Pre-compose everything, scale the resulting layer with collapse transformations enabled. Done.
