Adobe Premiere CC & Adobe Encore July 2018

Hi all,

I use Premiere CC on a MacBook Pro running Sierra for editing & one of my projects now needs a DVD. I understand that Encore is no longer part of the CC package so have downloaded Premiere CS6, which does include Encore. However, when Encore opens it asks for a Serial Number, which, as a CC subscriber, I don't have.

Also, Adobe appear to have removed the function which allows selective uninstalling of either CS6 and/or Encore, so when I do uninstall CS6, Encore goes too.

I can't find any up-to-date (as of 21 July 2018) information online or on Adobe's own site on how to solve this issue and would appreciate any/all advice.

Many thanks.

Nigel.

Jeff,

If signed in via the CC desktop app, I can open Premiere Pro CS6. Or if not signed in via the desktop app, I can open Premiere CS6 by signing in with my Adobe credentials when prompted - both ways works fine.

But even when signed into Premiere CS6, if I then try to open Encore CS6 I am asked for a Serial Number.

Thanks.

Nigel.

Nigel, thank you for the confirmation.  Encore CS6 should be seeing the membership the same way that Premiere Pro CS6 is.

As a next step please try signing out of the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application and sign back in.  If Encore CS6 continues to prompt for a serial number then please complete the steps listed under Uninstall and reinstall the Creative Cloud desktop app at Adobe Creative Cloud signs you out or asks you to sign in repeatedly .

If you continue to encounter problems then we may need to remove all currently installed Adobe applications and reinstall.  As an alternative do you have access to an older Mac which you could use Encore CS6 on, Nigel? https://helpx.adobe.com/manage-account/kb/troubleshoot-creative-cloud-sign-out-sign-in.html

Really appreciate this & have followed link instructions to the letter.  Unfortunately, when uninstalling Premiere CS6 via either Utilities or the Creative Cloud, the ‘Uninstall Options’ window doesn’t appear, so I can’t select just to uninstall CS6. Any uninstall then removes both CS6 & Encore. I have tried this several times, always with the same result.

just install encore cs6 from your cc desktop app.

at this point you should uninstall the cs6 programs

tick 'show older apps' (preferences>cc) in your cc desktop app.

install encore cs6 using your cc desktop app

Thanks. Have tried this but it doesn't seem to work. Even after I've ticked 'show older apps', installing Encore CS6 is not offered as an option. And I can't select just Premiere CS6 to uninstall, as that window appears to have been removed.

Yes, that's how I've been installing Prem Pro CS6. And yes, it does install Encore along with Prem Pro CS6 - there's no option to install Encore CS6 as a standalone app - but the problem is then twofold:

i. There is no option to uninstall just Prem Pro CS6 and leave Encore CS6 in place - the window that has historically allowed you to

select or the other component for removal, no longer appears. You either remove both or neither.

ii. If I leave Prem Pro CS6 on my system and launch Encore CS6, the Encore window appears (so it's been installed) but then asks for a

serial number, which as a CC subscriber, I don't have.

All very frustrating.

Thanks for your advice so far, will persevere.

Nigelp151058, I am sorry you are facing so many problems with utilizing Encore CS6 as part of the Creative Cloud membership.

The steps offered by Brucgov and Kglad should work.  Why are you installing Encore CS6 on this MacBook Pro running macOS 10.13?  Is this a new computer or are you reinstalling Encore CS6?  If it is a new computer did you previously transfer or migrate any files or folders to the MacBook Pro?
