Adobe Products Not functioning on New Macbook Pro

I just spent thousands of dollars on a new Macbook Pro and none of my Adobe software works efficiently. A friend just told me I have to pay for Creative Cloud now - Given I've spent a ton of money on Adobe Creative Suite already I'm hoping there is a way around this, otherwise I would have bought a cheap PC...If Adobe is going to do this you would think you'd get either a refund or credit for all the money you previously paid for a hard copy of their software. My Photoshop and Illustrator programs quit unexpectedly all the time, or won't save files (I get an error that says "Could not complete your request at this time")...Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated - I do not want to pay monthly for the rest of my life to use software I already bought...If this is the case, it is a total scam...

Thanks,

Andrea

If you're using pre-Creative Suite 6 legacy products on a brand new Mac, you can thank Apple for not giving you the backwards compatibility you want to support older software.   Adobe never promised your older software would work forever.  No software developer can make that claim.  However CS6 should work.

Which versions of Photoshop and Illustrator?

Presumably you're running macOS Sierra?

Yes, I am running Sierra and using CS5.

Does Adobe honor your serial numbers from previously purchased products by waiving fees? If I need to upgrade to CS6 for my software to work I should be able to pay simply for an upgrade, but from what I am seeing there are no other options other than this monthly subscription cloud crap...I cannot find a phone number on this website to speak to anyone but I feel there should be support for those who did pay for their software - does anyone have a phone number or email address to reach Adobe Support?...Not very happy that Apple didn't bring this to my attention either when I told them specifically the software I would be using on my new computer.
