Error code 21

Community Beginner ,
Apr 21, 2015 Apr 21, 2015

I downloaded a trial version of Lightroom. The Creative Cloud app downloaded and installed just fine but when I try to open lightroom I get an error code 21 "Errors encountered during installation". When I go to the Adobe trouble shooting page they do not list error code 21.

I finally gave up trouble shooting, Uninstalled the CC app and then reinstalled it. After reinstalling the CC app the Lightroom app then installed and is now working.

Got same error after multiple tries to install Lightroom CC.  Tried installing to a new drive. Rebooting computer. Rebooting CC. Nothing works.  Click "more information,"  and the html file is blank.  Also tried manually deleting LR 5. Tried to install another adobe app from CC and no problem.

I see chat is off line. and the phone support, typically awful, is dreadful now.

Adobe, not ready for prime time.

The "more information" button opens a blank screen that after 5 minutes remains blank.

I tried searching for the file and could not find it.  "more information" is useless.  Not sure where they store the installation log.

Thanks. Was it CC only or the entire app suite?

Just the CC app. I had kept the initial CC download widget and reinstalled

the CC app from that. Then went to the individual apps and clicked "Try"

after the lightroom icon. It took about 4-5 minutes for lightroom to

download. I'm working from windows 7.

Looks like for me I have to uninstall all Adobe apps to uninstall creative cloud app.  Probably a 45 minute to 1 hr manual ordeal, scrambled PS plugins, and a lot of muttering.

Facial rec is not that important.

Adobe gets a few boos from here.

Muttering wouldn't even be in it if that were my problem. In your case my

monitor might even be in danger from a thrown mug! Can you save your

plugins to another drive?

Since you marked the response as the correct answer it is assumed your problem is solved.  If it is not, which appears to be the case based on your response, you should unmark it.  If it is answered can you point out what the fix was for the sake of others who might have the same problem.
