Question

Looking for direct download links for Creative Suite trial versions?

Trial versions of Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop Elements, and Adobe Premiere Elements are downloaded using the Adobe Download Assistant — a small application that is meant to improve download reliability and avoid issues that commonly occur during large downloads, such as frequent disconnects.

What do we mean by "large downloads"? Photoshop CS5 and Photoshop Elements, for example, are each over 1.1 GB. The approximate download times for files this size are:

• On a cable connection (3 mbps): 50 minutes.

• On a DSL connection (1.5 mbps): 1 hrs. 39 minutes.

The Adobe Download Assistant helps most people manage the download of these large files, for example by enabling pause/resume of the downloads, and checking to ensure the complete file(s) are downloaded before actual installation begins.

While we strongly recommend you first attempt to download trial versions using the Adobe Download Assistant, we also realize that some people just prefer to manage their own downloads directly, using a web browser. For those of you who do, please follow the instructions carefully here.

Update 5/5/13: Please utilize the Photoshop Elements page at http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop_elements&loc=us to set the trial cookie to allow the links offered at http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs6-direct-download-links.html to function successfully.

Update 5/17/13: The Prodesigntools site - http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs6-direct-download-links.html has been updated.  Please follow the Very Important Instructions section to complete the download process.

I have the Adobe CS4 Creative Suite installed on a computer that is broken.  Originally, I purchased a physical copy of the suite, but I have moved and cannot locate my physical copy of the suite.  I do, however, still have my serial number. I have purchased a new computer and would like to install my version of CS4 on my new computer.

I called customer support and verified my account info, and they instructed me to go to this page and request a download link for CS4.  The customer service agent informed me I would recieve a download link within 24 hours.  It seems a bit of a a strange way to go about getting me my download link, I hope my customer service agent was not misinformed.

Here is the email from my customer service agent:

Your Case Number:0210032576

can anyone confirm the Adobe Web Premium CS5.5 English Mac DMG downloads successfully on this third party website?

I have tried downloading it over 10 times for the past 2 weeks, and it always "completes" at exactly 2.15 GB (when its supposed to be 4GB)

This is getting incredibly frustrating, why is Adobe relying on prodesigntools, a third part website, to host their previous versions? That is not very professional.

I've tried on different networks, different browsers, ethernet, everything. it fails at exactly 2.15GB each time, very suspicious that its on their end.

Where can we just get our CS5.5 downloaded (from ADOBE servers) which we paid money for?

Please, help!

Prodesigntools is not hosting the files they are giving instructions on how to reach the older version downloads.  The install files themselves are still being download from Adobe's servers.

If you are facing difficulties with the download using the direct download instructions then it is likely your current Internet connection is causing the problem.  If your network is managed please contact your I.T. department.  If it is not then please contact your Internet Service provider as it appears you have a 2.15 gigabyte limit to download files.

Just a thought:

Since downloading earlier versions is one of the most popular requests on these forums every day (and most people are provided with a link to the prodesigntools website), would Adobe consider making earlier versions available for download (back to, say CS2) without forcing everyone to jump through hoops?

We can download just about every version (1,2 3 and 4) of Lightroom ever released - but not any other apps. Any reason for that?

I was trying to download Indesign 5.5. Like others have mentioned before, I tried to initiate a download of another product by going to this link:

Click «here» to visit this page

However I'm getting a "Site Area Temporarily Unavailable" page so I cant go any further.

Anybody else getting this?

Yes we are facing some temporary issues with our server.  We are currently working to resolve these difficulties.

Hi Jeff,

Can you give us an update as to the status of your servers?

I've been trying to install CS6 using my Cloud account but for the past 2-3 days my download has stopped at 99% Downloaded. I also tried doing it using the direct links from http://prodesigntools.com and I'm getting that same issue 99% and download stops.

Thank you!

Thanks for posting about direct download. I was finally able to get the files downloaded, but they won't extract. I get to around 99% complete, and then it says that I either don't have enough room (I've got over a tb) or I don't have permission. If I try to extract the .7z file manually it says '~~~~~~ file is corrupt.' I've been trying to wrap my brain around this for days. What am I missing? T_T

Which version of which program did you use to attempt extracting the .7z file ?

If it was a different one, you should try 7-zip 9.20. However if it also says the file is corrupted, then, it must be. Such things may happen when downloading huge files : then you should try redownloading.

By the way, since it isn't mentioned yet on those pages, I guess I should talk about it :

Those files are also downloadable from Adobe's public FTP server ( ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/cs6/downloads/ ), using either a "normal" Internet browser or, better yet, a FTP client (such as FileZilla or CyberDuck), which allows resuming of downloads in case they get interrupted.

In addition, this method doesn't even require to log in with a specific account on Adobe's website.

Jamrak7 it appears other users have posted regarding this as well.  I would recommend you try repeating the instructions given on the site again.  Perhaps try an alternate web browser this time?  It is also possible there could be some time in the next days when the trials maybe unavailable as we prepare to make Creative Suite 6 and Creative Cloud available.
