I need to reinstall Acrobat 9 Standard on a new laptop (old one died, program was originally purchased as a download) but the only "Older Product" that is available for download is the 9 Pro version (which of course does not recognize my serial number). Is there a link to download Acrobat 9 Standard?

Download and installation help for Adobe links
Download and installation help for Prodesigntools links are listed on most linked pages. They are critical; especially steps 1, 2 and 3. If you click a link that does not have those steps listed, open a second window using the Lightroom 3 link to see those 'Important Instructions'.

Thanks for the comeback but I am puzzled about one thing...why do I have to download a trail version of Lightroom, a program I do not need? Is this necessary just to reinstall Adobe 9 Standard that I had purchased 4 years ago?

you don't need to download lightroom. you just need to get that adobe.com cookie by starting a download. follow the directions and you'll see that you cancel the download.

Okay, I got it done though this was by far the most complicated reinstall I've ever done. I could never explain to someone how to do it as I just managed to muddle my way through it, I'm sure I could not repeat it. However the reinstall is completed and I am grateful for the assistance and your time and patience, it's all good now. Thank you!

I had a similar problem, so was delighted to find these instructions. The download worked just fine, but I encountered a different problem. I downloaded Acrobat 9 Standard and ran the installation; however, when I entered the serial number (copied from the "My Products and Services" page), I still got an Invalid Serial Number error message. On an earlier call to Customer Support, I was told that this serial number indicated that I had originally installed from a DVD; would that cause an Invalid Serial Number message when I entered in this installation wizard? Would it make a difference if I burned the install files to a DVD and ran them from there? I may still have the original DVD, buried in one of several moving boxes in my basement. I was just hoping to avoid that scavenger hunt.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

it should not matter whether you install from a dvd or the downloaded files. the only thing that matters is that you download the correct installation files.
eg, if your acrobat 9 standard was part of a creative suite bundle, you would need to use the installation files for the cs bundle (even though you only want to install one program from that bundle).

Thank you for that reminder. I may have to do that scavenger hunt through the moving boxes after all. I don't remember the exact original source; it may have been part of a suite.
You've given me a direction to investigate. Again, thanks a lot.

you're welcome.
p.s. if it was part of a suite, you can download the suite installation files and your serial number will work with that.
p.p.s. if you registered with, or purchased your suite from adobe, you can check which suite at your account, https://www.adobe.com/account.html

After re-installing (due to hard drive crash) Acrobat Standard 9 I am getting the following error after installing my serial number. I don't have any serial numbers for the products listed?

when starting your installation your prompted for your acrobat 9 serial number. when the installer fails to find a qualifying product (ie, previous version) installed, you will be presented with a dropdown of possible qualifying products. select the one you own. you will then be asked to enter the qualifying products serial number.
enter the correct number at the correct time and installation will proceed.
if you don't have a qualifying version serial number, you can't install the upgrade.
in addition, if you have an incompatible os (ie, anything from the past few years), you can expect problems.
