I have been successfully using all of the apps in Creative Cloud much of the time. However, there have been some inexplicable issues. My account is current. I just received that verification. When I try to launch Media Encoder this error message appears. "Thank you for using Adobe Media Encoder CS6. The Adobe product that installed Media Encoder has not activated. Please launch and activate the Adobe product before continuing to use Media Encoder." I have used this Creative Cloud version of Media Encoder numerous times. It just doesn't want to work now. I can run other Creative Cloud apps, the problem seems to be with Media Encoder only.

Same steps mentioned in initial post worked for me as well. Copy amtlib from another app

Hi Tvenice1234,
That is odd. Did you install the DVA products (Premiere Pro & After Effects) through Adobe Application Manager or as a trial. You might try creating a new user with admin rights and test from there. If you are on Windows you might try launching the Media Encoder by right clicking and choosing Run As Administrator. Did anything change recently on your computer? - Install any other system management software, time machine, registry or system backup, anything like that?

Hi Dave__B, Thanks for the response. I installed the apps through Adobe Application Manager. I am using a Mac Pro 8 core with OS 10.6.8. The strangest thing about this problem is that it started working the day after I posted my note. I have had a similar problem with Encore twice where I can't access it for a day and then it begins to allow me to use it again. I am wondering if there might be an issue in the way my software verifies my Creative Cloud license with Adobe.

Hi Tvenice1234,
Thanks for the additional details. I haven't heard of this scenario before. Its possible that it could somehow be related to licensing. Was anything changing related to the internet connectivity at the time the issue occurred? When it was happening, was it something that seemed to be affecting all products or just Encore and Media Encoder?

Hi Dave,
I have been able to use Media Encoder all week until tonight (Saturday). In fact it was working fine earlier today. Right now I can access all products but Media Encoder. I have never had this issue during the week. It has only happened Friday or Saturday evenings.

Upon occasion I am asked to re-log into a particular application in Creative Cloud. This happens when I am successfully using a Creative Cloud App and open one that I haven't used for a while. I don't know how to log in when I want to, only when prompted. I would bet that when Media Encoder displays the "has not activated" error message re-logging logging in would fix the problem. Do you know how to log into Creative Cloud at your choosing and not having to wait to be prompted?

Go into:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder CS6
delete amtlib.dll
Go to :
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CS6
copy amtlib.dll from there to:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder CS6
If you use 32-bit versions or version prior to CS6 then choose the correct folders for your case.

Solution works for my case as well. Same kind of Error Message. No Cloud used at all.
Cause: Encoding process was terminated abruptly by process killing (accidental/unexpected logging off, shutdown)
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Status: Solution to overwrite amtlib.dll worked
Thank you!

Will this solution you posted work for CC? Whenever I try to Queue a project during the export process, I get an error message saying that Adobe Media Encoder is not installed. I know Encoder is installed, because I just updated it, and I can open it separately. I also don't get this message when I export from Premiere without first queuing. I haven't tried your solution yet, because I didn't want to mess anything up deleting and moving files around. Do you think I should try this for CC?
