Why can't I access Adobe Media Encoder

I have been successfully using all of the apps in Creative Cloud much of the time. However, there have been some inexplicable issues. My account is current. I just received that verification. When I try to launch Media Encoder this error message appears. "Thank you for using Adobe Media Encoder CS6. The Adobe product that installed Media Encoder has not activated. Please launch and activate the Adobe product before continuing to use Media Encoder." I have used this Creative Cloud version of Media Encoder numerous times. It just doesn't want to work now. I can run other Creative Cloud apps, the problem seems to be with Media Encoder only.

Go into:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder CS6

delete amtlib.dll

Go to :

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CS6

copy amtlib.dll from there to:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder CS6

If you use 32-bit versions or version prior to CS6 then choose the correct folders for your case.

Hi Dave__B, Thanks for the response. I installed the apps through Adobe Application Manager. I am using a Mac Pro 8 core with OS 10.6.8. The strangest thing about this problem is that it started working the day after I posted my note. I have had a similar problem with Encore twice where I can't access it for a day and then it begins to allow me to use it again. I am wondering if there might be an issue in the way my software verifies my Creative Cloud license with Adobe.

Hi Tvenice1234,

Thanks for the additional details. I haven't heard of this scenario before. Its possible that it could somehow be related to licensing. Was anything changing related to the internet connectivity at the time the issue occurred? When it was happening, was it something that seemed to be affecting all products or just Encore and Media Encoder?

Hi Dave,

I have been able to use Media Encoder all week until tonight (Saturday). In fact it was working fine earlier today. Right now I can access all products but Media Encoder. I have never had this issue during the week. It has only happened Friday or Saturday evenings.

Hi Tvenice1234,

That is odd. Did you install the DVA products (Premiere Pro & After Effects) through Adobe Application Manager or as a trial. You might try creating a new user with admin rights and test from there. If you are on Windows you might try launching the Media Encoder by right clicking and choosing Run As Administrator. Did anything change recently on your computer? - Install any other system management software, time machine, registry or system backup, anything like that?
