Question

Is facial recognition info saved to file (JPG, PNG, etc)

I am new to Lightroom CC (currently using trial version).  I have played with the facial recognition feature.  I have also seen that when I set the name for those with facial recognition that the value gets saved as a tag/keyword in the file metadata (JPG, PNG, etc)... My question is does the actual facial recognition info (ie. the rectangle around the face marking who is tagged) get saved to the file as well so when I share it with other people they can see who each person is in the photo?

I am specifically interested in this because of the following usage scenario... I do a lot of genealogy work.  For all the photos and documents I scan I am attempting to add as much metadata to the file so it can live with the photo.  I would like to see the facial recognition info also being saved so I can avoid adding all the info as well to the caption field.  As an example I currently add info like this to the caption field for family photos:

"Front Row:  Fred Smith, Ginger Smith;  Back Row: Sam Smith, June Smith"

Thanks

Hi bennettdarren,

The size of metadata associated with a jpeg or png is very limited, so I don't think that the facial recognition info can be saved to either a jpeg or a png.
