Is latest LR still slow on 4k and 5k monitors?

I thought the slowness with 4k and 5k displays had been addressed at some point?!

Browsing through the forum though I came across posts suggesting it hasn't been fixed:

Re: Poor performance with 30 inch monitor

I'm looking to replace my monitor, so this is very important to me.

Any hints are much appreciated.

I guess it depends on who you talk to. Some users say that things work great with their 4K or 5K monitor, other users say no. A requirement is that you get a qualified GPU, and I would recommend getting one that is close to or at the top of the line. Adobe Lightroom GPU Troubleshooting and FAQ

I can tell you that there's still a performance issue with Lightroom -- throughout.  On my 15" 4K Dell laptop, Lightroom performs passably.  But on my 30" monitor running at 2560x1600, performance is awful.  Over a year since you asked the question, and unfortunately there are still performance issues with the software.

Thanks, looks like mine qualifies.

I guess there's only one way to know for sure.
