Lightroom 2.7

Community Beginner ,

I had to recover files from a Hard drive. There are scanned pictures and when I tried to open these recovered files there is a dark cover over the pictures. The pictures showed up in the file folder icon. I opened the file in my Light room and it says the file is either non supported or corrupted. I had spend numerous hours to digitized old prints and negatives. I tried to attach a sample picture but I do not see any option for that. There used be an option for attachment.

Any help will be appreciated.

Corrupted files.

You did not successfully recover the files from the hard drive (perhaps they are not recoverable).

Hi Apan20B,

Sorry that you're having problem opening your scanned images in Lightroom as they are are not supported.

Please upload couple of sample file to any cloud based storage drive like Dropbox and then share the link with us. Also, provide few screenshots of how the images look like in Lightroom on your computer.

Thanks,

Akash

I have added couple of pictures. But, I am not sure whether you will be able to see them. I do not see any option of attaching a picture to this post.

If you are trying to attach the image via e-mail or using your phone it will not work. You need to be using your computer, using a web browser, and accessing the forum. When you do that, at the top of the message box there is an icon you can click on that will allow you to attach an image. Here is a link to the forum Web address:

It is possible that the files were not properly recovered from the hard drive, and so they cannot be opened in Lightroom.

If you look in your operating system, please tell us the size of one of these problem files.

As suggested above, please upload to Dropbox or similar service, and then give us the link, so we can download the file for ourselves and see if we can figure out what is the problem.

That was a Seagate Drive and I send the drive to them for recovery. I guess those pictures are gone. Thanks for trying..
