I have tried importing as DMG files but that didn't work

Lightroom can't see my files but iPhoto works fine.

Is there a plug in?

Do I need to upgrade to LR6?

All solutions welcome please.

If that's a typo and you really mean the DMC-TZ80, you can purchase LR 6.4 or later; or Lightroom CC 2015.4 or later.

You should also be able to use the free Adobe DNG Converter version 9.4 or later to convert your RAWs into DNG files and import the DNG files into your Lightroom 5.

If that's not a typo, the TX80 is not supported by Adobe software at this time.

it is a typo

i meant TZ80.

Thank you

can I upgrade to LR 6 from version 5?

will I have to re import my catalogue?

it has come as quite a shock not to be able to import my photos as I like the camera.

Yes. You have a couple of choices: paid upgrade or subscription.

  1. Either join the Cloud Photography Plan and get Photoshop+Lightroom and all updates, or
Lightroom and Photoshop | Adobe Creative Cloud Photography plan
  2. Pay to upgrade to Lightroom 6
Download and install Lightroom 6 (Single App license)
    At step 3 select Upgrade

Your version 5 catalog will be automatically converted to version 6.

New digital cameras often require software upgrades. Sometimes paid, sometimes free updates Factor it in to future camera purchases.
