Lightroom Clasic CC Catalog Update

After Adobe CC updated my Lightroom Classic to the latest version, at startup it displays a message that the catalog format has been changed, and it needts to update my catalog to the new format. After accepting this, it fails. Is there a way to fix this?

I'm running the latest version of Lightroom on a Mac (Creative Cloud subscription).

There is a bug that sometimes causes the upgrade to fail. Adobe is aware of it and is working on a solution.

I think there has been an update since then, but i still have the problem, both with the catalog in the Lightroom folder, and with the latest backup.

No, there is has not yet been an update that deals with this bug.

For both of the people that have posted to this discussion.

 

Find, select and UpZip your most recent backup of your current LR Classic catalog. Then Double click on it. That will open LR Classic V9 and an attempt will be made to Upgrade that copy of the catalog file.

 

If you have not changed, really disabled, the default LR Catalog backup system (which by default happens once a week) you shouldn't lose much editing or importing of images.

Also the backup-catalog files don't work for me (first point on my list of things i tried).

I am currently having the same issue and i do not find a way how to fix it.

 

The error message:

Lightroom encountered problems when trying to update the format of the catalog file and cannot use the catalog in this version of Lightroom.

 

Things i have tried (with no Success):

- Use backup file

- Search for missing photos in the current catalogue - and delete them

- Reinstall everything

- Remove Plug-INs

- try to update the Catalog on my laptop

- delete smart preview & preview files

 

None of above has worked 😞

My catalog still works well in 8.4.1
