Multicore Processor - how many cores, lightroom can use to enhance performance

I would like to know, if it would be useful to use e.g. an intel xeon processor with 22 cores (44 threads) to enhance performance of lightroom classic cc?

It used to be, for Lightroom 5 and 6, that 4 core processors worked best, and anything more didn't work as well.

There have been some discussion about how this has changed with Lightroom Classic CC, and some testing that indicates that Lightroom Classic CC performs well with 6 and 8 cores (you'll have to search for that yourself). I have no idea if 22 cores will work well; and I have not seen anything "official" stated by Adobe on this issue (which doesn't mean they have or have not commented on this issue, it just means I haven't seen any comments on this issue).

Now, having said that, what exact functions of Lightroom are you trying to speed up? Because some speed slowdowns really don't depend on the CPU.

Hi, thanks for your answer. Thats exactly, what i heard too.

i want especially enhance the developing module. I work with big files (nikon d800 raw). I use 64gb of ram and a very fast m2- ssd And a professional graphics card with high performance.

modern photographic - software normally takes a big adventage of a multicore processor, like the xeon with 22 cores. But such a processor is very expensive and so i don‘t be able to just test.....

The other issue which affects this in Lightroom is how big your monitor is in pixels (not inches). A 4K or bigger monitor will benefit from GPU speed more than a CPU speed in the develop module; with the exception that brushing and spot healing are not sped up by having a fast GPU, in fact these are made slower by using the GPU.
