Question

iPad Pro to lightroom to external HD RAW

Hi there,

My workflow at present is:

1. Photograph in RAW format.

2. Offload my RAW images to an external drive connected to my desktop Mac

3. Edit my RAW images through Lightroom CC (original lightroom)

4. I also create smart collection for editing the files on my iPad Pro

5. All edits are automatically synced across my various devices

What I would like to do is:

1. Photograph in Raw format

2. Offload my RAW images to iPhoto where I can add to lightroom mobile.

3. Make edits

4.sync with desctop

When I take my RAW files on my SD card, plug it into my Mac to offload onto my external HD

will all edits and images I have deleted and rated pair up with my already synced images. Or will it create another collection of unedited RAW files.

Basically I want to store my edited RAW files on my external HD after culling, editing and rating with Everything being synced and NOT having to store RAW files on the Cloud.

thanks In advance for any help on this matter.

LR CC Mobile doesn't work with iPhoto. Sure you can use the Web interface for LR to upload images from your hard drive but that has nothing to do with iPhoto.

You say you are using LR CC (Original LR). There is a newer version of the Original LR. It is LR Classic CC. But to use that version you need one of the newer versions of OS X and the newer versions of OS X doesn't contain iPhoto.

It is best to pick one photo cataloging, organizing, and editing software program and stick with it. If you want to use iPhoto then stop using LR. If you want to use LR then stop using or even thinking about using iPhoto.

Update your OS X to a version that works with LR Classic CC 7.2.

As for all your questions on using the mobile and web versions of LR I only upload finished and exported to JPG images.
