Question

How can I re install P.S.Elements 8 when serial number rejected as invalid?

I have just refreshed computer and as a result my Ph Shop Elements 8 was un installed.  I noted the serial number before hand...but it only had 20 digits.

Now I am trying to re install and when I type in number...it says invalid number..(apparently there should be 24 digits)

I remember re installing this programme many years ago without any problem.

Seems like I did not register Elements 8 in my account....only Elements 2 is registered...which I must have used before.

So after chatting to Adobe...they insist that I only have Elements 2.

They will not give me a valid serial number to use...…..just would rather sell me an upgrade …"at a discount price"!!!!

Anyone else had this problem?

Any answers?

I don't wish to shell out for upgrade when I am perfectly happy with version 8.

The serial number listed in the program is not the full serial number.
If you didn't reset the computer, you might have been able to retrieve the full serial number with a program like Belarc Advisor.

See if anything in this link helps:

Find your serial number

If there is nothing there that helps, I'm afraid that there is nothing that can be done.
It would be a good idea to record all of your software serial numbers someplace secure so that you can retrieve them if necessary.
