Photoshop cs6 says "Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognise this type of file" when I am trying to upload a raw photo from my Nikon camera when the photo is converted to a dng.

It also says it cannot find my file when I try to upload a jpeg.

The Camera raw programe doesn't seem to be working either. I have just recently downloaded camera raw onto my laptop.

I am on a Mac using the new Mojave OS.

You have to subscribe (10-12 euros/month during a year) to Photography Plan that includes Photoshop and Lightroom, as there is not an upgrade route from old CS6 to current PS version, that's only available, as any Adobe application, under subscription.

Did you shoot your images in RAW?

Initially I wasn't, but I just shot a couple images in raw (NEF) and tried to upload those and I get a message saying "could not complete your request as photoshop does not recognise this type of file"

Have you downloaded the photos to the computer?, Do not work from the memory inside the camera.

Do you have other images already on your computer that can be open in other applications? Try them in Photoshop then. Do they work?

I have taken the photos off my sd card and put them into folders on my desktop and attempted to open them in photoshop from there, and yes other images do open into photoshop e.g. screenshots. I did export the jpg to a jpg-2000 file and photoshop did open it however it didn't open it to camera raw first which I would like to do

Don't use the JPG 2000 format it hasn't been widely adopted. Stick to PSDs and when you need a format for external use, Save a copy as an uncompressed JPG. (always, keep your layered PSD file in case you need to return to it later to undertake further work on it).

Can the jpg be opened in another application, if it can’t it may be corrupted.
