360 footage effects and effect download

I have seen a video on youtube where a man uses a GoPro VR effect to turn his 360 video into something that you can choose what angle you view anything inside the 360 video. when I type the same effect on my premier it doesn't show up. its called GoPro VR 'something'. I have tried going to GoPro and they offer the GoPro VR "plugin" for premier which I downloaded but the file disappears and I can't figure out what ive downloaded and if I can import that file into premier as the effect. Is the plugin the same thing as downloading an effect for premier?

The effect im talking about is the one where you can choose the angle you are looking at from within your 360 video. seamlessly - as if you are choosing what direction you look at when using a VR headset.

thanks in advance

the effect you are looking for, was formerly an addon effect by GoPro.That worked until version 12.1.x in PremierePro.

As far as I can remember, it appeared under "videoeffects" in a subgroup called "GoPro VR".

Here, your desired effect, is called "GoPro VR Horizon".

But in CC19 / PPro13.x adobe aquired mettle-Skybox effects , and included them by default under the group "immersive Video" .

The particular effect for determination of the point of view (keyframeable) is called "VR Projection" .

But be aware : there is one additional bug in premiere pro , besides many others . If you apply this effect, and for example another one like "VR plane to sphere" on top of it, you will loose the GPU-acceleration !!

You will receive an error as a blue bar over your video saying "...this effect requires GPU-acceleration".

In this case you have 2 choices :

blame adobe for their incredible buggy and expensive softwaresubscription, and make a decision towards another product

or

switch the order of the applied effects.

regardless the already included Imersive Video package (which btw is really worth it) you can additionaly install the gopro plugins.

Thanks!! It seems like the ones in immersive work somewhat. But still a little strange.

Do you know how to install the plug in? I downlod it to my mac but then it dissapears and dont know how to install it into premier.

well , if you have a mac running under HighSierra or Mojave , and you are talking about PremierePro 13.x then download the GoPro-Plugin from:

Kolor | GoPro VR Plugins   (102)

that ist the most current one which works .

double-click expands a dmg-file .

that one double click as well and start the installer ....business as usual ... right after the installation you will see (restart premierepro if it was running) the new "gopro vr " group with 3 different plugins inside.

As well you should look the internet for the fusionstudio 1.4 which ist still under beta for a longer time ...

But, as they explain....after installing fusion-studio, you have defenitely to install the plugin again.
