Question

AAC vs. MPEG Audio Format - Which one can give you an uncompressed sound?

Hi,

I want to create some MP4s with the same song, but each MP4 will use a different audio file format (MP3, Wave, AIFF, etc) of that same song. Which audio format in the audio exporting settings (AAC or MPEG) will give an uncompressed sound without a codec? It seems that MPEG does not have a codec setting, but I want to be 100% sure it does not have one. I want the sound of that WAVE, MP3 or whatever the format unaltered when I create the MP4. Let me know, please.

Thank you!

Jose

Uncompressed sound?

Neither: but aac will give you better quality over mpeg.

On a side note: Wave is uncompressed, mp3 is most of the time highly compressed.

Hi Ann,

Do you know I am talking about a video file (MP4)? Hence, there is no Wave or MP3 option in the audio settings. Do you still think I can't uncompressed audio if I create an MP4? Let me know, please.

The MP4 container does not allow for uncompressed audio.
