How can you achieve the quick cutting effect in a montage
So I'm trying to do something similar to this Previously on Buffy the Vampire Slayer - The Gift - YouTube for a trailer I'm editing for a film festival. After I introduce all the films individually, I wanted to do a montage at the end with quick cuts similar to video in the link I posted (although I'm not sure if I want it to be that intense.) That clip is from the year 2000, so I'm assuming the editors used Avid for that. How would one achieve this in Premiere? I've looked at YouTube videos at "time lapse" and "fast forwarding" but they weren't really helping me with what I was trying to do. Is there a name for this effect? I can't tell if the frames speed were increased, or if they just put in shorter frames to give it that quickness feel. I also tried increasing the speed of the clips in Premiere, but it put black spaces between each clip? Please let me know if anyone understands what I'm talking about and could possibly help!
