Is it possible to fade into a Color, rather than Black or White?

Hello all!

Just a quick question, I was wondering how I should see about fading from a video clip into a complete screen-covering color (specifically all green) and then fade out to another video clip. The only question I could find online about this said this...

"Hi Taya,

I had a similar problem and from this what I know, you have to create a matte in desired colour and then put cross dissolve at the beginning and the end.

I know that it is just walking around the problem.

Perhaps with next update Adobe will add function that allow to dip to (any) colour."

It appears this hasn't been updated yet, but I thought I'd ask anyway. I'm not too sure how to create a matte, but I'm sure I can look that up. Regardless, I appreciate the help. Happy editing!

Correct answer SAFEHARBOR11

Create a new Color Matte in your choice of color, and put that next to video clip. Add transition (dissolve. etc.)

Thanks
