Side by side stereoscopic 3D editing from two separate video files

Hi there,

I need to create a video file for active 3D stereo, hence I assume I need to go for a side by side option. I am completely new to Premiere Pro and I've never did any 3D before so I would like to ask what would be the recommended approach.

I found some tutorials but since all of them are quite old I would like to ask here what would be the suggested way of doing it nowadays. Do I have to use some 3rd party plug-ins or is it everything I need inside Premiere Pro? Do I need any plug-in at all or should I just nest things or whatever is the appropriate term etc?

My material is an animation, I have separately rendered video file for one eye and separately for the other eye. Now I need Premiere Pro to put the two files together and export a version for active stereo.

I would really appreciate any guidelines! Many thanks!!

I did this by loading the two videos on two tracks one for left eye and the other for the right. I scaled the width of each one by 50% and repositioned them to be side by side. Most 3D TVs and projectors can hadle this arrangement. Here is the result:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=doAzXpMzMYA
