ADOBES SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE IS A SCAM

Wow, this subscription service is just a thinly veiled money scam!! In the future when I need to use a company to edit documents I will choose any company BUT Adobe! I can't believe the secret hidden steep cancellation fees they tack on! It is so sneaky and underhanded! And the customer support is NOT helpful AT ALL. I have never had such a headache just trying to unsubscribe from a service I am not using. My customer service rep was rude and unhelpful. I can't believe in the middle of a global pandemic this company is blatantly extorting money from people. I will be sure to let everyone on social media who works from home know to avoid this service!

There is no excuse if an Adobe Customer Support representative is rude!

That having been said, the only “steep cancellation fees” that may be incurred are for subscriptions for which you commit to one full year, even if paying on a monthly basis, in return for a significant discount over the monthly subscription. If for example, you subscribe to Acrobat Pro DC for an annual subscription, but wish to cancel after ten months, the cancellation fee includes the difference per month between the monthly subscription and the annual subscription. Why should you get a discount for the annual subscription if you really want/need it on a monthly basis?

There is nothing secret here and no scam! If you need an Adobe product for occasional use, you should subscribe on a monthly basis which allows you to unsubscribe or resubscribe for months in which you need the product.

This is no different from a car or apartment lease where you commit to the lease for a certain time period. Return the car early or break the apartment lease, yes, you are subject to either cancellation fees or to paying for the remainder of the period.

Please read the terms before you sign up anywhere for subscriptions, leases, etc.

When you 'click to agree' to the subscription terms while buying a subscription, that means that you really do need to read BEFORE you buy a subscription... https://www.adobe.com/legal/subscription-terms.html
