You know what's funny? When a website is so terrible and deceptive that clicking a button thinking it would provide more details on a subscription option (because Adobe software is so expensive that I have to change my plan or worse cancel - which would not be plausible for an architecture student such as myself) actually apparently signs another year-long contract immediately, no verification needed - and just days before my current subscription ends.
For a company that is built for the minds of creative and detail-oriented individuals, the Adobe webpage is far from efficient, it is borderline scammy. I literally just wanted to try to cancel and am suddenly enticed by a "wait, dont go!" offer that is so minimally outlined, so vaguely offered that anyone worth a penny would rightfully think "let me see what the fine print is", only to find myself bound by another contract and guess what - still no fine print, no date range, no clear outline of what exactly I am to pay adobe over the span of 12 months. I have clicked every option, every button under my account here on the website and everything leads back to the same "did this help?" message at the bottom of a page that was anything but helpful.
It is so wild to me that Adobe maintains such a monopoly over their own class of (still often buggy!) software and even though they realize this, they continue to offer the crappiest "contracts" for using it. Like, anyone would still pay for a whole month to use the software WHEN THEY NEED TO, why the hell do you guys insist on roping people in and so dissuading what I can only assume is a TON of other people from using such arguably useful software with the threat of annual obligations and termination fees?
I know this is the ranting of a singular, poor individual with no possible value in the grand scheme of things for the tech giant that is adobe, but please please please - anyone should be cautious of Adobe and their contractual subscriptions and the management of them here on the website. I personally despise how the world and everything in it seems to be moving in the direction of (expensive) subscriptions, shoutout to Robert McNeel and Associates with Rhinocerous3D software, which is NOT subscription based, and is just as infinitely useful as Adobe software.
Adobe, if you're listening - fix your website interface to include literally ANY detail on someone's plan or subscription overview. I know we live in a world of color and fun graphics but sometimes all people need are technical details and clearly written terms and agreements, not deceptive menus with equally deceptive offers (I don't care which is the "best offer" by the way I will judge the benefits myself).
Even after screaming into the void for a bit still cannot find a payment schedule or contract end-date for my new plan which is - to say the least - frustrating (but not surprising).
