Redemption codes are 24-digit alphanumeric codes used once to be redeemed for access to an Adobe software title or service. You are typically given a redemption code if you purchase from a third-party seller or marketplace. If you are redeeming the code for a perpetual desktop software title, then you will be provided a serial number automatically registered to the Adobe account during the redemption process.

For more information, see:

Serial numbers are 24-digit numeric codes used to license an Adobe desktop software title. Serial numbers are only used for perpetual software titles. A serial number is not required if you are subscribed to an Adobe software offering or service. Serial numbers are used as part of the installation process and can be registered under your account on Adobe.com.  Registering the software will also allow you to download the installation files if they are still available for distribution.
