changing account without re-install the suite

recently I changed my subscription and the new one is linked to a new account of mine. Now, do I have to re-install all the programs of the suite on my Mac? Is it possible just associate the installed programs to the new account? And what happens to the existing projects?

Correct answer KRupani

Hi Simbolabile,

Welcome to the Adobe Forums!

You can certainly associate the new Adobe account to the installed programs without re-installing the products.

1. Launch Creative Cloud desktop app.

2. Click on the gear icon on the top right hand side in the Creative Cloud desktop window and go to 'Preferences'

3. Select the tab 'Account', Sign out of creative cloud and then sign back in using the different Adobe Id.

Thanks

I'm locking this. It does not make sense to reactivate this 2014 thread for unrelated posts.

Worst customer service EVER. Was supposed to get 6 digit Auth code to start the plan. Never received. Not in spam. Bot-based chat no help. Sent me to FAQ links from 5 years ago. No help. Terrible. Cancelling.

@Mike267408636jul, use a browser that allows popups and cookies and contact adobe support by clicking here, https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen
in the chat field (lower right), type AGENT
be patient, it can take quite a while to reach a human

p.s you can also use phone (but chat is usually quicker), https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/phone.html

p.p.s. you can also use twitter to tweet @AdobeCare

p.p.p.s. if you're contacted by anyone (via email or private message), it's much more likely to be a scammer than an adobe representative. ie, double check for an employee badge if contacted in the forums and look for an adobe.com domain in the email address if you click reply to an email. then check again and be very suspicious. any other method of contacting (or offering to contact you) is almost certainly a scam, https://community.adobe.com/t5/using-the-community-discussions/staying-safe-in-the-adobe-support-community/td-p/12919684/redirect_from_archived_page/true

This is really disgusting company. You switched accounts, and there is no option to log out? only option available is to buy package, if you close dialog, it force the app to close itself. And you end up cannot log out forever. Seriously, what kind of product is this. Don't expect to get my money once my plan finished.

@merve267119579m0l it's easy and quick to change accounts.

what problem are you having?

Quit all Adobe products.  Delete this file:

C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe
Relaunch whichever Adobe product you like and sign in with the correct account.

I would like to echo the other answers that say this is no longer correct.  If you click 'sign out' in creative cloud it immediately asks you to sign back in and it uses the SAME credentials instead of letting you put in a different account.

I worked around this as follows (windows only solution):

  • Open windows credentials manager (just search for credentials manager)
  • In the 'windows credentials' category there are a ton of Adobe entries, delete them all
  • In the task manager, kill anything that looks like it belongs to adobe creative cloud (there are also a ton of them)
    • If it has the creative cloud icon or is named 'adobe' kill it
  • Restart creative cloud and you will FINALLY be asked to enter a new email and log in

Not all of those steps may be required but that's what worked for me.

This answer is no longer valid.  There is no sign out button, nor preferences button.  Instead, there is a browser link to your account.  Follow it (online) and it will show your current sessions, with buttons to end them...

End all sessions.

Then sign out of that account.

Then sign into correct account.

Then, relaunch Adobe creative cloud...  mine still shows old login, but when you follow account link this time, it goes to correct (new) account.

Relaunch application (e.g. Illustrator).  This time it doesnt prompt you with a must purchase screen.  It says you are no longer logged in and it must relaunch.

When it relaunches again *good grief* you can now sign in with proper credentials...

We don't have a requirement for users to log in to the CC apps; they just launch them using our license.  We logged the individual off the CC desktop and we tried logging in to an app using the university Adobe user name and password, but the app would not launch.  We also use the Adobe sign and users are required to log into that.  Is there a token of some sort that then requires the user to log into adobe apps?

I read absolutely NO answers...only comments like "try this, it may work", or statements like "we don't require...". What is the answer to the question of HOW to verify a correct 2nd email address???

Thank you.  This is the correct answer.  Unfortunately it took the adobe support person 2 hours to figure this out.  ugh!

Thank you again,

Just want an invoice so I can pay, is that so difficult-or don't you want payment?
