Create Audio sound wave file

Explorer ,
Jan 22, 2025 Jan 22, 2025

Hi all,

Is there an easy (free? I work for a nonprofit) way to create an audio sound wave that follows the sound of an mp3? I want to turn a static image that shows during an audio playback into something more visual.

Thanks!

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Danny, thanks for posting your question and the work you do on the behalf of your non-profit. In addition to Kglad's suggestion please see https://adobe.ly/4hqXAFH for additional Non-profit resources especially for countries and regions where TechSoup is not available.

I also second Kglad's suggestion on utilizing Audition, which is included with a CC All App or Team plan. You can find information on using the Waveform editor within Audition at https://adobe.ly/42qNvo2.

Please update this public forum discussion, if you have any additional questions, Danny. ^JW

Thank you but my end game is to export the sound waveform in a video format that would eventaully be keyed over a still image and played back as a video.

Thank you. My org gives me a CC account. I said "free" meaning not yet another 3rd party app that I would need to pay for. I didn't make that clear.

My end game is to create a video asset of the sound waveform created by a sound file that would be keyed over the still image as the sound file played. This would in the end be a complete video asset.
