E-mail address showing in all uppercase letters

Good day,

For some strange reason, when I log-in to my Adobe Account, it shows my e-mail address written in all uppercase letters. This issue has been going on for years and still no one seems to be able to resolve it.

I even deleted my Adobe Account a while ago and re-registered, but unfortunetally still showing my e-mail address in all uppercase letters.

What I find strange is, when I change my e-mailaddress to something else, it updates correctly, but as soon as I change it back to my primary e-mail address, it's all uppercase letters.

Could someone please look into this matter and see if they can explain why this is happening and if we can resolve it?

Thanks,

Plisson

Hi Jeff, thanks for the reply! Responded in the support case, referring to this discussion.

Asked them to close the case tho, as I've tried for years to get this 'bug' fixed, but without any success.

Same problem here. Adobe insists on presenting my email address IN UPPERCASE. When I change the address to a different one, it stays in lowercase. When change back to my main address, uppercase comes back.

Helpless.

No, it's not a browser issue. It's an Adobe bug.

what problem does that cause?

I haven't noticed any by now other than aesthetics. However, in accordance with email standards (RFC 5322), the local-part is case sensitive - irrespective of server implementations.

So, by changing the case, Adobe actually changes the user-supplied email address to a different one.

Thanks for the replies.

It's just strange to see the e-mailaddress in all uppercase letters, only with a specific e-mail address (my main). All other e-mail addresses I tried stay in lowercase letters, so there must be something triggering to show my main e-mail address in uppercase letters. Haven't come across this issue on any other site where I'm registered.

Overall I do not have any problems loggin-in, just looking weird. Tried in several different browsers and on different devices, but all keep showing it in uppercase letters. Even the authenticator app shows it with uppercase letters.

Guess it's something I just need to get used to.

Plisson, in addition to Kglad's suggestions, please also check the auto-fill entry settings for your preferred web browser. I have seen the same behavior in web browsers where my personal information was previously stored. The browser could be suggesting/correcting to the capitalized version.

Just curious:

Why does it matter to you?

these are user forums.  we can't look at your account any more than you can look at my account.

this is the info for changing an email address, https://helpx.adobe.com/in/manage-account/using/create-update-adobe-id.html though i don't think it will help because upper and lower case in an email address are irrelevant.  ie, email addresses are NOT case-sensitive.
