Erroneous Device Activation Limit Reached Notification

Aug 29, 2025 Aug 29, 2025

I've just been suddenly kicked out of my Adobe programs, because it claims my device is not activated, and tells me that I need to sign out of at least 15 of 16 other devices listed as being signed-in to continue using it on this device.

Essentially I get this screen: activation-limit-reached-1 but there are 16 devices listed as activated on the right instead of 2 (which is of course, impossible to achieve even if someone hacked my account.) There are even little dots along the bottom of that portion of the screen that erroneously overlap the "If you need to manage accounts for a team, switch to a team plan. Or shop our offers." blurb, and left/right arrow buttons to use to naviatge through all the listed devices. It appears that my current device erroneously became duplicated 15 times (alongside my old device, which is supposed to be there) and states they were all activated yesterday, even though I just got kicked out in the middle of using an Adobe product today.

I'm mostly wondering if anyone else is experiencing this same issue. I'm assuming the solution is simply to deactivate them all and reactivate the ones I want, but I'm not sure why this happened in the first place so I'm not certain this is something I can prevent from happening again or not.

Thanks.

I 've got the same problem as well , happened recently 28th-29th. Only 2 device activated (A and B) for more than 3 years, I get the error " You have reached your device acvitation limit " and when I look into it, Device A appears to be listed as three individual devices,  forcing me to sign-out from these so called devices  to be able to move on.

2step verication on, but I guess it's not related to that. I deactivated all devices, signed in again on Device A, recently, but when I view the active sessions, I see the same device listed couple of times with the same date and location, We'll see what happens when I try to sign in from the Device B

yes, duplicates aren't significant unless you're using a vpn.
