Question

Hidden charges, subscription added without my knowledge

When I had to change credit card number (Chase sent me a replacement card after a rogue charge was observed) to my astonishement I came to realize that Adobe charged me DOUBLE for several months by adding a new subscription, which I never made.  I am only using Lightroom, now called Classic. Nothing else, nothing else matters to me.  No cloud storage, I am using zarro bytes, and I will never use any cloud storage (privacy concerns!).

I warn you about this practice by Adobe.  Please check your subscriptions to see if you also have suddenly "a new plan" added to your account.

Hi @ThomasH_on_the_web,

We appreciate you reaching out and sharing your experience. I checked your account details and found you are using Adobe Photography Plan (20GB) and earlier you subscribed for Creative Cloud storage 1TB which is now canceled.

When subscribing to any Adobe plan in the future, please make sure to uncheck any default options for additional services that you do not need. Let us know if you have any questions. We are here to help.

Yes, I cancelled the 1GB cloud plan immediately when I spotted it now. But I never knew that in Nov 2024 this "plan" was added. Have I clicked something by mistake? Possible. Nice trap!

yes, when subscribing to an app(s) plan there's a checkbox for additional cc storage.  it's checked by default.  you have to uncheck it to avoid that, if it's unwanted.
