Overly high cancellation fee.

Hello,

I have been paying for an Adobe account for nearly one year now. When I initially tried to cancel the account after forgetting to do it doing the trial period, I was offerd a deal of $1.46 a month, so I decided to stay. After one payment of $1.46, I have been been paying $21.99 a month, and now the most recent payment is $28.99. I have made 12 total payments to Adobe since June last year. I have an annual plan, paid monthly. Now, when I try to cancel my plan, I am told it will cost me over $150. I believe the policy is that I should only be paying 50% of the amount left on my plan.

Can someone please clarify this?

Thanks

the penalty is 1/2 the remaining amount due for the completion of the term.

you should contact adobe support and make your case. there are 2 ways to contact adobe; chat and twitter:

chat:
use a browser that allows popups and cookies
and click here, https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen
in the chat field (lower right), type AGENT
be patient, it can take quite a while to reach a human.

twitter:
tweet @AdobeCare

p.s. if you're contacted by anyone (via email or private message), it's much more likely to be a scammer than an adobe representative. ie, double check for an employee badge if contacted in the forums and look for an adobe.com domain in the email address if you click reply to an email. then check again and be very suspicious. any other method of contacting (or offering to contact you) is almost certainly a scam, https://community.adobe.com/t5/using-the-community-discussions/staying-safe-in-the-adobe-support-community/td-p/12919684/redirect_from_archived_page/true

To be clear, if you've been over 12 months the yearly plan has renewed and the 50% penalty is back to its maximum. To cancel without a fee, cancel during month 12, not after it (when it is month 1 again).
