Unable to Access Adobe Account...they got rid of passwords?

Greetings everyone!

I'm creating this message on an alternate Adobe ID account that I just had to make because I lost access to my email address associated with my usual Adobe ID, which is the topic of this post. I hope this is posted in the right place, Photoshop is one of the app impacted by this.

I created my Adobe account back in 2010 when I was an undergrad at which point I bought Adobe CS5 Web Premium. When I created my account, I used my school email, which at the time I was told we would have access to indefinitely, but it seems here recent times they decided to do away with that to which I wasn't aware.

Ever since creating my Adobe account in 2010 I've been able to put in my school email address and a password to log into the Adobe website to access my account, most recently I logged in in the last few months ago not problem. However, this morning when I tried logging into my Adobe account using the same school email address instead of letting me type in the password I was redirected to log into my school account.

I called my school and was told that I may not have access to that email even if I reapply due to the way that they create their emails now and I've been out of school for a short bit and couldn't see my previously used email.

Additionally, I was told by my former school's IT department that they don't have any affiliation with Adobe and they didn't understand why I was being redirected to login into the schools email from the Adobe website as opposed to letting me use my Adobe credentials (ie. email + adobe password). At the school's suggestion, I tried reaching out to Adobe directly, and the person I spoke to on the phone seemed a little impatient with me, mind you I am autistic and very direct, literal and logical, and didn't feel that they were listening to me because the representative aknowledged they didn't have affiliation with my college while also telling me that having access to my school email is needed to access the account as opposed to just having the password. I was basically was told that for whatever I wasn't allowed to have access to my Adobe account because I couldn't log into my school account. This makes absolutely no sense.

I told this person that this didn't make any sense and asked to speak to a supervisor, which they took my number and said they would call me back tomorrow, and they confirmed someone would call me tomorrow which is Saturday. Additionally, this person told me that I would be out of luck if I couldn't have access to my email, which means several hundreds of dollars spent on the software would essentially be wasted, which is not what I think any of us would want to hear. Keep in mind I understand CS5 is outdated and am not looking for support with the applications themselves, just needing access to my account.

Again, I'm confused by all of this because of my school is telling me they don't have any affiliation with Adobe and Adobe telling me they don't have any affiliation with my school....so then why on earth is Adobe redirecting me to my school webpage to login? Also, this raise the whole new set of questions and concerns like if any of us were to go and buy Adobe software and lose access to our email then basically we're out of luck at that point as I was also told by the support representative that are unable to do any type of identity verification with an ID, or even the print out of the email that has all of the serial numbers on them from the purchase....? Again, I wasn't informed that I would be losing access to my school email like this.

This really seems like an unnecessarily complicated issue that seems to have just sprung out of nowhere.  I'm extremely frustrated by everyone at both the school and at Adobe pointing their fingers at each other and telling me to talk to the other and that they can't help me.

I expect better service from Adobe.

If anyone has anything helpful, I would be grateful and hope that all of you reading this have a great day!

then you won't be able to contact adobe support other than via twitter/x: tweet @AdobeCare and i'm not sure how they can help you.

p.s. if you're contacted by anyone (via email or private message), it's much more likely to be a scammer than an adobe representative.

Trying with the alternate account:

"To continue with agent assistance, please sign in with an active plan. I found no record of an active plan linked to: (alt account email here)"

It seems that if I want help with the other Adobe account I will have to be logged into said account which I don't have access to....lol?? Problematic if you're not able to access sid acccount in the first place

Thank you for the suggestion! I tried this earlier and it tried having me log in to my Adobe account first before they could help.

"To continue with agent assistance, please sign in with an active plan."

Do you know if trying to get help with the other Adobe account is possible from the alternate account I am using now?
