Question

What has happened to Adobe? It used to be a better company to deal with.

Does anybody know why Adobe has become so difficult to deal with? Software, customer service ... it has become a pain. Even linkages, accounts linked to social media, why would anyone even want that? The packages are way too expensive and complicated. PDFFiller is a much simpler product and they have customer service too. Very disappointing because I used to be a fan of Adobe and considered Acrobat essential for my team; now we don't even use it and have found alternatives. The whole credit card capture business model needs to go away. In the end it is very inefficient, and I think Congress is looking at financial service regulation preventing the unauthorized use of credit cards which would close the loophole that companies use once they have required and captured your credit card number. Have any of you had a similar experience?

and while a lot of people complain, those that contact adobe support usually are satisfied.

this, from a few minutes ago, is typical: https://community.adobe.com/t5/account-payment-plan-discussions/please-help-me/m-p/13659710#M36897

I don't know what the heck you're talking about. It doesn't make much sense in the context of Adobe Software/Services or the subscription model.

Adobe is no harder to deal with now than before. But people are. And so are the requirements they demand from software. People change devices and operating systems more than they change shoes  -- mobile, tablet, laptop, hybrid, desktop.  Updates, updates, updates...

  • The subscription model has been wildly successful for more than 10 years.
  • It keeps pace with changing technologies in ways that boxed disks never could.
  • Adobe has 22 million Creative Cloud subscribers and employs more than 26,000 employees worldwide.
  • The numbers don't lie.

But some people would like to think otherwise and look for ways to fault subscription-based services. Truth is, it's no different than paying monthly for phone/Internet service.

Anyway, good luck.  I hope you find whatever it is you're looking for.
