Question

Will Adobe be offering a senior discount?

I am a graphic designer that is planning on retiring soon. I have been using Adobe products since the very first version of Photoshop and Illustrator came out. I would like to supplement my income with freelance design in retirement, but will be on a fixed income and can't possibly afford the current prices. I was in my early thirties when digital graphic design really took hold. The older designers who had difficulty adapting either switched careers or retired. As a result, the vast majority of designers from this era were young.  These designers are now beginning to retire and in the coming years, there will be a great number of us who will be in my position. Does Adobe have any plans on offering a senior rate?

I agree with your requests. I've been an Adobe user since version 2.0 or maybe even earlier in the early 90s and now at 70 years of age, and retired, I still like to do a little work, mostly for just a couple of small nonprofit communities... a public educational center/museum, an interfaith spiritual center and another senior housing/resource organization.  I donate my time but it would be nice to reduce my monthly subscription as I am now on a fixed income.  So for over 30 years I have subscribed or purchased products and maybe it would be nice for Adobe to give back to the community through me a little.

posts in the discussion forums will have no impact on adobe's business practices.  it's not clear posting anywhere else will either, but there's hope if you post in the cc desktop ideas forum and others vote it up.

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query here.

Unfortunately, I do not think Adobe offers any Senior discounts as of now.

You may refer to the following thread that involves around the same query and I hope they will be of some help or clarity : https://community.adobe.com/t5/account-payment-plan/when-will-you-offer-senior-discounts/td-p/10134774

Thanks & Kind Regards,

Deepjyoti.

I saw your question defaultdssz0exw1ca0. Since 1992, I started as a self-employed graphic designer and a satisfied user of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. Now at the age of 76, I still enjoy making non-commercial designs for a friendly cycling association and neighborhood association. But I still work with an old Adobe CS6 and miss all the updates. Because if I want to continue with Adobe products, I could only rent a total package for a monthly-price, that is not bearable for me (and probably many pensioners with me). And it also is impossible to upgrade my iMac to macOS Big Sur and/or Monterey, because CS6 will no longer work. I wonder, where is the Adobe Senior Discount for former graphic designers, who for years and years, even decades, have bought Adobe products (and thus sponsored) and who still want to create something nice, but no longer have the money for it. So at my age I feel discriminated I can’t participate anymore.

Thanks

Adobe offers discounts to Teachers & Students who can provide documentation to prove their eligibility status from one year to the next.  As far as I know, no software company offers senior discounts.

Many seniors use the The Photography Plan -- a deeply discounted bundle for $10/month.  Includes the following:
- Photoshop CC and Photoshop on iPad
- Lightroom on desktop, mobile and the web
- Lightroom Classic
- Portfolio website + hosting
- Bridge
- 20 GB cloud storage (upgradable to 1 TB).

Another option is Photoshop Elements or Premier Elements both aimed at consumer level users.  $100, no subscription needed.
