I cannot now change the color of the font used within a text box that I have added to a drawing while marking it up. I can open the properties toolbar (CTRL-E), select the text, go to the color picker and select a color, but the text always remains black. This used to work. Acrobat DC says there are no additional updates available (version now is 22.001.20169). I tried the "repair installation" function but that did not help. At this point I'm stuck.

Hi Warren
Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that.
I have tried to reproduce the issue on my end and its working fine.
Please double click inside the text box and then select all the text and press Ctrl-E to open text box text properties and try to change the color of the text and check.
As you have the recent version and tried repairing the installation with no luck, please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-defau...
Also you may try to create to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Win and try using the application there and check.

Hi Amal,
Thanks for the suggestions. Your method to test a text color change is what I have been doing and yet the color does not change. As a side note, I can open an existing PDF that already has a text box and select that existing text box text and try to change its color. It too does not change but when I go to close the file, Acrobat prompts me "Do I want to save my changes?" even though only one change was attempted and it failed so no real change was made. I should also note that, with the properties window open, when I select pre-existing black text in a text box, the color picker in the properties box does not switch to the black of the selected text. It used to attempt to follow the color of the selection.
Hiding away the preferences did nothing. Creating a different privileged user account is not an option.
I also just tried uninstalling and reinstalling Acrobat through the CC app and that did not help.

Thank you Amal! That did the trick!
After reading the instructions on the cleaner's web page, where it said "AcroCleaner is not an uninstaller and should NOT be used as such", I went ahead and uninstalled first using the normal Windows uninstaller and then ran the cleaner. Looking at the log file it produced, it deleted 1200+ registry entries. Rebooted and reinstalled from the location that you provided.
Interestingly enough, when I reopened the test file that I had been using yesterday, I immediately saw RED text in the text block that had been showing BLACK text yesterday (and RED was what I had been trying to change it to) so apparently the text color change was happening and it was the display portion of Acrobat that was screwed up, such that all colors of text box text only displayed as black. In any case, the right colors now appear and I can again change them as I see fit. Thank you!
