Acrobat DC Install fail. Tried what I think are the solutions presented in the forums...

Hello, I’m hoping for some help.


I have the “standard” Acrobat DC install issue detailed in numerous posts on these forums when attempting to install Acrobat DC from Creative Cloud desktop in a windows 10 pc.


To summarise, it is exit code 7, with
ERROR: DW071 and
ERROR: DW003: Third party payload installer Adobe Acrobat\Setup.exe failed with exit code: 1603.


I have tried all of the solutions that seem to be highlighted on these forums


For example:

and am still nowhere near success.

 

I have tried the 2015 Acrobat Cleaner Tool, restarted and tried reinstall and got the same problem again.

 

I have tried the 2015 Acrobat Cleaner Tool again, restarted, ensured I have the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015-2019 installed to the same fail again.

 

I have tried the 2015 Acrobat Cleaner Tool once more, and then downloaded the separate package and once more the same error message and lack of success.


So I am now at a complete loss and burned several hours on this.


Suggestions and hopefully solutions most welcome.

    Hello Axel,  and any potential help.

     

    I have followed every one of the options on the very useful link Axel posted

    Error exit code 6, exit code 7 installing Adobe Creative Cloud

     

    And still I have not been successful.

     

    There was an error in the DLM file (following searching the log file "Solution 2: Verify file permissions"). Although nothing "fatal".  

     

    But I don't understand the error. It does occur multiple times.

     

    It is:

    12/04/20 14:55:42:749 | [ERROR] |  |  |  |  |  |  | 2780 | The windows error code is - 12006
12/04/20 14:55:42:749 | [ERROR] |  |  |  |  |  |  | 2780 | Failed to get the user proxy settings (WPAD). Error is 12006. Ignoring the proxy setting in this case.
12/04/20 14:55:42:749 | [ERROR] |  |  |  |  |  |  | 2780 | failed to resolve the proxy setting on the machine

     

    One other feature is that during the install it comes up with 

    "progress is slower than usual. Working on resolving issue..."

    I guess that is linked to the proxy thing. 

     

    Given I've had no issue with installing anything else in the CC portfolio, could that be it?
