Acrobat PDF Maker in PowerPoint Convert multimedia does not work / Export PPTX to PDF with videos

I have a PowerPoint presentation with embedded videos and I am trying to export it to PDF with the videos included and playable.

In Acrobat PDF Maker plugin for PowerPoint there is a checkbox in Application Settings group called "Convert mutlimedia" with the description Add multimedia to Adobe PDF.

However, when trying to export the presentation with this feature enabled, the resulting PDF does not contain any videos, just images in their place.

I would like to ask:

  1. What is this checkbox for?
  2. How to export PPTX to PDF with playable embedded videos?

Thank you for your help 🙏

Hi @athelas64

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

I tried to reproduce the issue at my end and its working fine. Please share a small video recording of the steps and the issue you are experiencing.  Also, share the PPTX file in question, so we can check it on our end.

What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 23.06.20360 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.

Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792082

Also go to Preferences (Ctrl,Cmd + K) > Multimedia &3D > Select 'Enable playing of multimedia and 3D content' > Click OK and reboot the computer once and check.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards

Amal
