Acrobat Pro 2020 (Classic track) Signature validity is UNKNOWN

Dear

When I digitally sign (using tools / certificates) a PDF file in Acrobat Pro 2020 (Classic track) version 2020.005.30467 that signature is shown with "At least one signature has problems / Signature validity is UNKNOWN" when opening it or clicking on the signature.

The digital signature is "Belgian eID" https://eid.belgium.be/en/what-eid

The problem is limited to Acrobat Pro 2020. If we open the same document in Acrobat Pro Continuous Release 2023.001.20174 we do not have that problem.

Is this a known problem/bug? What is the workaround/solution?

    Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that. 

     

    Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check. If the file is stored on a shared network/drive please download it to your computer locally and then try again.

     

    Also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.

    You may also try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Win or enable the root account in MAC and try using the application there and check.

    Dear Amal

    Thanks for your reply. The problem is with all PDF files created (stored on the local disk) and I have the problem on mulitple computers. Repair installation and reset preferences do NOT solve the issue. New profile or admin rights are also NOT solving the issue.

    Clearly a problem with Acrobat Reader 2020 (classic track) , if I take a same pdf and open it using a pre-release feature in the (Microsoft) Edge browser the signature shows "validated".
