Acrobat Pro DC Slow and not responding

I couldn't find any posts that were similar that were more recent. 

 

I installed Acrobat Pro DC on my Windows 10 laptop a few months ago.  Wow, is it slow and every time I try to do anything, I get "not responding."  I run all of my other applications just fine, typically having several open at once.  But when I open Acrobat, I make sure that nothing else is open.  This doesn't help.

 

I have the most recent update.  I ran an installation repair.  Of course, I've restarted and made Acrobat the first application I open after restart.  Sandbox protections - not set to Protected View.  Not sure what else to try.  Thanks.

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that.

 

As you have already tried repairing the application with no luck, please make sure you have the recent version 22.1.20117 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

 

You may also try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792082

 

Also, try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Windows are try using the application there and check.

 

If it still doesn't work, please remove the application using the Acrobat cleaner toolhttps://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/cleaner.html  , reboot the computer once, and reinstall the application using the link https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-dc-downloads.html

None of that worked.  I have the latest version.  I never changed the preferences.  The problem is the same with the test.  I removed and reinstalled. 

 

This is the only application that is this crazy slow.  I can run Chrome with so many tabs open and three Office 365 applications open at the same time with no issues at all.  But I can't run Acrobat alone, even after restart, without it being soooo slow, locking up if I choose something before it's ready, etc.  I don't want to get a new PC yet but I'm guess Acrobat DC requires a minimum of 16gb memory.  I only have 8gb.  I'm going to have to get rid of it and use the third party program until I get an upgraded PC at some point.  Unless you have any other ideas.  The third party application was a one-time fee and it works fine except it doesn't see one particular graph from placer.  That was the only reason I switched.  But big deal...I have a workaround for it.  Acrobat is just not worth the hassle.
