Acrobat Pro is jumping to different pages after croping

Hi Community!

I am editting a 1000 page document in Acrobat Pro. I crop page 120 and the program jumps page to a random page. I go back to page 121 and crop, the program jumps me to another random page. This has been happening since a recent update. It was a mild annoyance on smaller files. It is excrutiating on this very large file.

I am running Acrobat Pro version 23.0 on a Mac, Ventura 13.5.2.

Best,

Jen

Hi Jen - I had the same issue meticulously cropping many pages in a PDF with hundreds of pages. It was very annoying. I unchecked "enable scrolling" and switched to "fit height". These are both availabile via a menu on the lower right of the screen. That seemed to fix the random jumping. Hope that helps!

Which menu? I see neither of those options.

Hi there ,

Please make sure you have the Acrobat application updated to the recent version 23.06.20360 . Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once and see if that works.

If the issue still exists, please colllect and share the required  logs as asked above.

Hi there

Hope you are doing well.

Please update the Mac OS to Sonoma, also update the Acrobat to the new version 23.06.20380 Go to help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Let us know how it goes.

Update:

  1. The Acrobat version I listed as "fully updated" is. So I'm not certain what you're asking me to do.
  2. The problem is not improved by updating to Sonoma and rebooting.

I'm really sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your PDFs. I understand how frustrating that can be. Let's work together to resolve this.

Firstly, could you please clarify whether this issue is specific to a particular PDF file or if it's affecting all the PDFs you're trying to open? It's a good idea to test with a different PDF file to see if the problem persists. If the file is stored on a shared network or drive, try downloading it locally to your computer and then opening it again.

If you could provide a small video recording demonstrating the issue, it would be incredibly helpful in diagnosing the problem more accurately.

Additionally, resetting the Acrobat preferences can often resolve various issues. You can follow the steps outlined in the link you provided: How to reset Acrobat preference settings to default.

If the problem persists after resetting preferences, consider creating a new test user profile with full admin rights on Windows or enabling the root account on macOS. This will help determine if the issue is user-specific.

To assist us further, it would be great if you could collect the Adobe Creative Cloud logs and activity monitor logs. You can follow the instructions here: Adobe CC log collection. and activity monitor logs (Mac) https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/activity-monitor/welcome/mac Once you have the log file, please upload it to a cloud storage service and share the link with us. This will provide valuable information for our investigation.

We're here to help you get this issue resolved, so please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or encounter any difficulties with these steps. Your cooperation is much appreciated, and we'll do our best to find a solution for you.

Dear Amal,

Thank you for contacting me so quickly. It has happened on several different PDFs. They are all stored locally. I did reboot. I successfully followed the instructions to reset my preferences. I continued to have the same issue. Attached is a video. I apologize for the shaky camera work.

Hi Jen

Thanks for sharing the video; we would also require the Adobe CC logs and the Activity monitor logs, as requested earlier, to further diagnose the issue.

Regards
