Acrobat setting unintentionally shows Chinese characters

Hello, my problem is about the Acrobat setting of author/creator. This is displayed with Chinese characters by default for me (but unintentionally). No matter from which layout program (Quark XPress or InDesign) I created the PDF. The author is correctly set to my abbreviation in the preferences. But I have to change these Chinese characters in every PDF and use my abbreviation. Do you have any ideas? Thanks for your help.

Hi @_Line

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that.

What is the version of the Adobe Acrobat you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 22.3.20281 (Mac) or 22.3.20282 (Win) installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also, try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.

Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792082 and see if that works.

Regards

Amal

Thank you for your feedback. Acrobat is up to date. Also deleting the preferences did not improve anything. Could the Apple M1 Pro chip in conjunction with QuarXPress be the problem? Is anything known about this problem?

Hi @_Line

For more information, you may also reach out to Apple and QuarXPress support teams and check with them.
