Acrobat X standard, error JP2KLib.dll is missing

I have a registered copy of Adobe Acrobat X standard, It crashed on update (I think) so I tried to uninstall it and it says file JP2KLib.dll is missing. I also tried reinstalling it, same problem. I tried uninstalling Acrobat DC but it says I have to uninstall x first. Is there a way to fix this or can I uninstall X without using windows?

The program gave same error message as before on Acrobat X and I also tried to remove Acrobar reader DC and it locked up so I had to use task manager to close it.

you have a mess.

you should never install different versions of acrobat and never installer reader and acrobat.

at this point, you can try 3rd party tools and hope for the best.  but you just might need to reformat, reinstall windows and then properly install what acrobat version you want.

3rd party tools:

IObit Uninstaller, Best Uninstall Tool for Your PC - IObit

revo uninstaller

ccleaner

i'd start at the bottom and work my way up, if necessary.

I never installed Acrobat DC and I never upgraded Acrobat x.

It just happened with no intervention from me.

I actually clicked cancel when acrobat X tried to upgrade and I think this is where the problem started.

.There are some confusing things here. Let's pick one. "I tried uninstalling Acrobat DC but it says I have to uninstall x first". Never heard of anything like this, so please give us the entire message, word for word.
