Adding Bates numbers to document causes letters or numbers with "circles" (O, o, 8, P, R) to fill in

New Here ,
Sep 28, 2021 Sep 28, 2021

It appears like the ink bled on the paper.  The circles on the number 8 are any similar character with closed circles are completely filled in.

This problem began about the end of August 2021.

Hi Beth

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described, adding Bates numbers to document causes letters or numbers with "circles" (O, o, 8, P, R) to fill in.

Is this a behavior with a particular PDF file or with all the all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check. If its a file specific issue, please share the file with us for testing.

If the file is stored on a shared network/drive, please download it to your computer first and then try to add bate numbers and check.

Have you created this PDF file or have you got it from a different user?

What is the version of the OS and Adobe Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the latest version 21.07.20091 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

You may also try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described in the help page https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-defau... and see if that works for you.

Regards

Amal
