Adobe Acrobat 2020 crashes when quick printing PDFs from Outlook 2010

Aug 17, 2022 Aug 17, 2022

We have a user at our workplace who is using Adobe Acrobat 2020 and Office 2010 on a computer running Windows 10 Pro 21H2. Whenever she right-clicks a PDF attachment in an email in her Outlook 2010 and selects "Quick Print", it starts printing the PDF and then an error message appears stating that Adobe Acrobat 2020 has stopped responding so she would click End Task and move on. It is printing the attachment so it's not preventing her from printing, it's just annoying and we didn't want it to potentially become a bigger problem later on. We have tried rebooting her computer several times, repairing and reinstalling Adobe Acrobat 2020, and running Windows updates but none of these resolved the issue. This issue does not occurs when she opens the PDF attachment and clicks File > Print.

We are considering upgrading her Office 2010 to Office 2021 but we did not want to do this yet as she is using some older Access database files that may have issues with newer versions of Office/Access.

Does anyone else have any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble.

Would you mind sharing the version of the Acrobat Pro 2020 and the OS you are using? To check the version of the application go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer.

Please try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only)

Also try to reset the preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-defau...

If it still doesn't work, please collect the procmon logs (Win) https://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Labs/acromonitor.html  and share them as described here https://helpx.adobe.com/document-cloud/help/sharing-pdfs.html

for more investigation.

Regards

Amal

The computer has Adobe Acrobat 2020 version 20.005.30381 and Windows 10 Pro 21H2 build 10.0.19044.1889.

I will get with the user to try your other suggestions.
