Adobe Acrobat Pro Freezes Up when opened (BigSur) Mac 11.5.2

This happened at the worst possible time.  I get the spinning beachball when any of my PDF's are opened.  I have the reader also, but need to make changes.  I have to constantly force quit each time.  I use the cloud service and have several others from the suite of Adobe products and they all seem to be working fine.  Any help would be appreciated!

I was able to connect in chat with Adobe tech support. I downloaded an IOS update and it began working again. It must have been related to that(?). Thanks for getting back to me.

Hi Brian Spokane

Hope you are doing well and sorry for the trouble. As described, on opening the PDF files the Adobe Acrobat DC application is freezing and you have to force close the it each time.

Is this a behavior with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try to open a different PDF file and check. If the file is stored on a shared network/drive please download it to your computer first and then try to open the file.

What is the version of the Adobe Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat. We have a new release available for Adobe Acrobat/Reader DC version 21.007.20091, please update the application form the help menu and reboot the computer once.

You may also try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described in the help page https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792082

Also try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Windows or enable the root account in Mac and try using the application there

Regards

Amal
