Hi @Jan34431549dc6t

Have you started experiencing this issue recently after the new update?

What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version, go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 23.08.2042X installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also, try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.

Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792082

6) Change the number directly after the file type extension to 1

That should do it. Zip files will open after that.

You can drag the attachment to your desktop and un-zip it, but you might not want to after you read this:

Hi Sureshbabu,

We are sorry for the trouble.

++ Adding to the discussion

Attachments represent a potential security risk because they can contain malicious content, open other dangerous files, or launch applications. Acrobat and Acrobat Reader always let you open and save PDF and FDF file attachments. Acrobat and Acrobat Reader recognize certain files, such as those whose names end in .bin, .exe, and .bat, as threats.

Acrobat and Acrobat Reader maintain a white list of file types that can be opened or saved, and a black list of file types that cannot. You are allowed to attach file types that are not on either list. However, when you open or save a file of an “unrecognized” type, you see a dialog box asking whether you trust the file type.

For more information please refer to the help article (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/acrobat/using/attachments-security-risks-reader-acrobat.html)

Let us know how it goes

Regards

Amal

Acrobat allows to embed ZIP files but it doesn't allows them to be exported (unless you hack the registry as described above).

Embedding a ZIP file is useless since anything placed as an attchment in a PDF file is immediately zipped.
