Buttons constantly refreshing on page

Hi

I'm using buttons to display images on an interactive pdf. When a certain set of conditions are true, different images are displayed. The image page is running like a 3 legged mule though I'm on a relatively powerful Mac. As part of trying to figure out what is going on with it, I created a new pdf with nothing but the images on it - no code, or form field etc and the same is true. It's as though everything time the page is scrolled or clicked, everything starts refreshing (slooowly). 

In the final product, the user will click a button which will run a script to determine what should be displayed. Therefore, I don't need anything to refresh. Is there a setting or something I can use to stop this happening? I've attached a short video to demonstrate the problem - this is from the image only file, with no code or form fields. Thanks in advance.

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that.

 

Would you mind sharing the version of the Acrobat/Reader DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 21.11.20039 installed.

 

Is this a behavior with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check.

 

Also try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792082

 

You may also try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Win or enable the root account in MAC and try using the application there and check.

Hi Amal

Thansk for takign the time to reply.

I am using the latest version & this is happening with this pdf and versions of it. I have tried creating it from scratch too so it's happening across the board. I don't use many pdfs so not sure that's especially helpful. The file is 3mb adn has 21 pngs on one page.

I tried to follow the instructions re preferences but most of those files don't exist on my machine. 

How do I enable the root account in MAC and try using the application there?
